We welcome you to the New Salem Baptist Church website. Our prayer is that this site will be informative and have a positive impact in your life. We strive to be compassionate in our worship.
We sincerely hope that if you are in the New Orleans area, you will visit the New Salem Baptist Church Family and have a worship experience that would meet your spiritual needs.
We are glad that you were directed to view our website. We are located in the upper ninth ward section of New Orleans.
Once again, our prayers are that you will visit us to get a first hand experience of what God is doing at New Salem Baptist Church, where we strive to lead lost and wounded souls to Christ.

Kid's Movie Night is every Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Youth Center of Hope Building located at 1632 Alvar Street. All young people are welcome to attend (pizza and drinks are served).
Please consider joining the Evangelism Team. They meet every other Saturday morning for 9:00 a.m. in the Community Resource Center located at 1600 Alvar Street.
The Community Voice meetings are held here at New Salem Baptist Church every third Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. These meetings are designed to keep the community informed of important issues and concerns.
Sunday School teachers' meeting is held every Wednesday at 5:30 p. m. to 6:30 p. m. in the Multi-Purpose Hall. All teachers and other related staff team members are expected to be present.
On August 29, 2005 Hurricane Katrina devastated the city of New Orleans, LA. Our church was seriously flooded and damaged.
Thanks be to God our church has been restored! To see some of the devastation and restoration.
